Let it snow!

It snowed and snowed here Wednesday - Friday so we had to get out and enjoy it.  The boys and I found a great little sledding hill and had a lot of fun sledding, "snowboarding" and even swinging on the swings!
We got to go spend a little time in Idaho over the weekend.  We headed up to Jackson, WY and landed at Moose Junction for a little snowshoeing adventure with Phil's family.
How's that for a backdrop?! (Can you spot Micah in that line?)
The boys did a great job...though this was the position we kept finding Ben in.  I kept telling him he was going to get cold...but then he didn't, so I stopped.
At the end of our excursion, Phil finally tried it and discovered it was actually quite comfortable.
Beautiful place to be on a cold, sunny winter day!

Merry Christmas!

Well, it came and went pretty quickly.  We had a fun Christmas.  My brother and his family came over for Christmas Eve.  We ate dinner, sang carols and did the nativity with puppets this year.   We are glad the boys get to have some "sisters" around once in a while. Here's our table with the kids.  The boys made some great little place cards.

Christmas Morning:  I never get any good pictures of the boys opening presents...I must be too excited to stop and take a picture.  Ben and Micah got a Hogwarts Harry Potter Legos and Jacob got an Ipod touch!

They also opened a box with a Mickey Mouse balloon that was supposed to float out and they discovered we get to accompany Phil to Florida in February on a business trip and go to Disney World (they weren't as enthused as I thought they'd be!)
After playing all morning, we headed up to my moms for dinner, games and fun.  Would you believe the only picture I got was when the boys totally crashed after getting up so early...Ben didn't even notice Micah's feet in his face!!
We hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

Cherpumple

That's:  Cher (Cherry) pum (pumpkin) ple (apple)

Phil was in charge of dessert for his work party on Friday.  Peanut brittle? No.  Fruit cake?  Definitely not.  Phil had to make a 15 pound Cherpumple - Three pies, baked in three cakes, frosted with three cans of frosting.  And here it is to prove it:

Enough to feed everyone at work, friends and neighbors, and his visiting family.  We named it Bob.  Bob Cherpumple.  Cheers!

On the first day of Christmas

My family got to see...
The light show at the Gateway and a treat.

We're trying to do something Christmasy for the 12 Days of Christmas.  We've gone caroling (sort of), watched Charlie Brown Christmas, listened to the Best Christmas Pageant Ever, attended a few Christmas parties and tonight was temple square.  Beautiful.  And cold.  We didn't make it too long, but it is always a fun tradition.

I take the same pictures every year.  I can't help it, it's beautiful.

Cousins make everything better!!
