We couldn't have asked for better weather for fall break. It was such a nice weekend and we enjoyed it up in Idaho. We started in Rexburg to watch my niece play soccer and to let the boys enjoy some great cousin time! It was such an exciting game and they barely lost in overtime! You are awesome though Syd!
After the cousins left for school, we headed to IF to enjoy some grandparent time. And I snuck off to get in a fall run. I love running this time of year, because it is so beautiful. However I spend most of my running hours in the dark before life begins. So a run in the daylight was a treat for me!
Grandpa went out and bought a football so that these four could play in the back yard (I admit I threw and caught my fair share over the weekend as well!)
Grandpa took us to see the REAL Pirates exhibit at the museum and it was right up Ben's alley.
A beautiful walk around the falls as well!
Our main motivation for visiting with Grandpa Stevens was an invitation he sent us to go Elk Bugling at Herriman State Park. So we all mounted our own horses and headed on out in the wee hours of the morning to see if we could see the Elk. It was dark when we started, but as soon as it started to get light a bit we could hear them bugling. It was pretty cool to hop off our horses and see the big herd heading across the valley as the sun rose. It was beautiful!
Jacob rode Scooter,
Micah rode Skippy (perfect for Micah!)
Ben rode Bo,
Grandpa was on Tex,
I rode Cache and
Phil rode on Jo Jo.
These are my handsome boys.
I may be a little out numbered, but I wouldn't want to miss out on all the fun!
The boys did a great job on their horses, especially Micah. He and Skippy did a little "trotting" along the way. He was in heaven and a champ!
Bye Skippy!
A couple more stops at Mesa Falls (if all the pictures have Micah's face like this, I don't really have a choice do I?)
Beautiful!
And the lower falls!
Sure love spending time with our family, especially in the great outdoors, exploring new places.
Happy Fall!
