True Aggies

Phil and I took a stroll down memory lane last night. In the cool, crisp autumn air, we walked around the campus of USU after dark. The same great campus where we started dating and fell in love 10 years ago! As we walked around, the memories flooded back. We wandered past where Phil used to work. He'd put up his "back in 5 minutes" sign and come find me in the library or watch my intermural softball games. We went through the building where we went to our first dance, and many dances afterward. We talked about where we had what classes and reminisced about College Hill. Hand-in-hand we started to feel the excitement and energy of being back in a college town.

And then Micah came up behind us, put an arm around each of our legs and split us apart, wanting to hold mommy's hand. Suddenly we were back in 2008 with three crazy boys running laps around the quad. What an odd feeling! To think back to the way things were and to realize what has happened over the last 10 years. What if someone had shown us a glimpse of us at that moment in the future? What would we have thought? (Probably that we were crazy!) Life has changed so drastically and so much has happened in not so much time. It's been a great ride and I'm proud of the little family we've become since our story began.

Would we go back? Yes, we decided, if we didn't have to relive the whole 10 years!! It's a long time. Those were such sweet days! But I think we've started to come full circle. Perhaps true aggies are the ones who return and share with their kids all the exciting and fun things about college life, saying things like "This is where dad had microbiology. This is where we lived and met... And maybe someday you'll come to this great school..."

"...Kids...kids? Get down from there...watch out...What? Again? You just went to the bathroom..." Oh man. Those were the days!

You should go back and a picture of your family all standing on top of the A, to document your true aggie-ness.

So fun, we have been able to go back for quick stops about two times and it too was fun to reminsce. I was suprised how different the campus looks since we were there. Lots of good memories at USU and with you and Phil. It is funny how different life is now, but good. Glad we are still in touch.

Hi Jennie! I found your blog on Jennie Y's page today and how funny that your top post is exactly how I remember you and Phil! I haven't scrolled through any other posts yet, but I'm going to look around and find a pic of your family now. 3 Boys..fun fun. We have two so far - Jack is 3 and Halle is 1. It was so fun to see you on here! Mine is not private so feel free to check it out. Where are you guys living now? Love, Monika

Hi again Jennie! This will be fun to keep up with you through blogging! We're living in Clinton, just west of HAFB, where Dusty works. We'll have to get together one of these days. Your kids are adorable! They look like a good mix of both you and Phil. And glad to see you're in Primary! I have been the secretary the past two years in ours so have had the chance to learn all of the great songs as well...sadly, and excitedly, I'll be moving on to a new calling this Sunday. Jack is just beginning Sunbeams next year, however, so I'll have the chance to go back and help him with talks and such. Can't wait!

I love the little trip down memory lane. I can't believe ten years have gone by. You guys do make a great couple. I even think that is my dress you are wearing.

I recognize that apartment-- and the red dress! (I think we all wore Brittany's red dress at one time or another.) You guys are as cute as ever-- I can't believe it's been ten years!
