Four Seasons

I went for a beautiful run this morning. The world was blanketed in fresh fallen snow, the roads were cleared and not many people were up yet. The sun rising over the mountains made the sky just gorgeous. After driving in the snow last week with Phil's white knuckles on the steering wheel, it was nice to have a contrasting peaceful look at the beauty snow brings. It is nice to live in an area that gets four seasons. Though I loved going to the park all winter long in Texas, this is what I grew up with and the winter feels more like winter with snow (those of you who don't have to drive in or shovel snow may now laugh.)

My fingers were too cold to take many pictures, and these don't do it justice, but they'll have to do.
The boys also found great enjoyment this week in the snow. We found some snow caves that a friend had made and the boys played in them for hours. Boys includes Phil. He in his most manly way took on the challenge of building one himself. (I suddenly realized I was not one of them and enjoyed reading a book in the car...fun for all!)

It's funny, Jen, while James and Barry were sledding, I was reading a book in the car as well! We are such wimps!

Hi Jennie,

I found you on Monika's blog. I love seeing the pictures of your family. Where do you live? Your snow pictures are beautiful!

Darren and I live near Seattle and have three kids (5, 3, 9 mo). We just had a super snowy Christmas, but it was great. Darren's mom made it from Idaho Falls (barely - her plane was delayed twice).

Anyway, Darren has a blog, if you'd like an invite, send me an email colettem24@yahoo.com.

I am excited to have gotten a little update, I hope you don't mind my 'stalking' your blog.
