Eat those veggies

In anticipation of April Fool's day next week, I thought I'd share a fun website for you tricky parents out there (or not so tricky like me that need a creative boost). Family Fun has a lot of fun recipes and pranks to play and I'm debating what to try out this time. Last year I made the above grilled cheese sandwiches (toasted spongecake) and veggies (starburst and chewy jolly ranchers). It was a hit. In fact, my boys hate grilled cheese and refused to eat it until they finally figured it out. The best was little Micah, who loved vegetables and was the first to notice. He was chowing down while the other 2 sat and complained. Here's a video of Ben once he discovered what the veggies really were:

We've also tried the mashed potato and meatloaf cupcakes. Obviously not as big of a hit.

Have fun, but shhhh don't remind my kids!! I want to get them again.

First of all we have those same IKEA plates here and we love them so much. Ethan is our super picky eater I think he has vegtable radar he won't even try most vegtables I don't think he has had his daily allowance since he stopped eating baby food.

Did I ever tell you about when I put my house up for sale on April Fools. It got the entire ward. It could have really backfired when they would have been glad to see us go. I had a friend who sold for Century 21 and she loaned me a sign, the attached flyer read, April Fools, Got ya! Hilarious. I absolutely love AF Day.

I made the mashed potato meatloaf pie last year. It was not a big hit. I also sent Cassidy to school with the hamburgers made out of cookies and peppermint patties. She loved those, and her classmates thought it was so cool. I am not sure what I will do this year, probably your grilled cheese and veggies. I like the idea and I love that website.
