One more week until school starts! Unbelievable. And unbelievable that I have not documented at all. I guess it is time for those all in one posts that include three months of material!!
It has been a great, busy summer. June and July were especially busy. As things begin to slow down I suppose it is time to start school back up again. Here's what we've been up to:
It has been a great, busy summer. June and July were especially busy. As things begin to slow down I suppose it is time to start school back up again. Here's what we've been up to:
Phil's amazing colleague, Kevin Carroll (the real Dolphin Tale Prosthetist) was in town for a few days. We were able to take him to dinner and tour some of our beautiful city sites while he was here. Always such a pleasure to be around Kevin. One of the best Prosthetists in the world, yet took some time to be with our family, showing interest in each of our boys! Pretty amazing.
Some fun with neighbor friends!
Including a fun trip to the zoo!
Cousin days!
This summer Wednesdays we went on some fun field trips with the cousins. Hill Airforce Base Museum, Bean Museum to see President Packer's Carvings, The Bowling Ball Factory a trampoline park and Mrs. Cavanaugh's were some of our favorites!
We also got a cousin Bees Game in.
As well as one with a few friends (including Bumble :)
A fun neighbor invited Ben over for a cooking lesson. They made us some delicious French toast with liquid gold syrup, her secret family recipe. It was very sweet and Ben had a great time. We know some amazing people!
Grandma Baird got to sing at the Tabernacle for Craig Jessop's group. I went to watch and loved the beautiful music they sang. What a fun opportunity in our back yard!
Trek
Phil, Jacob and I were able to go to Trek this year. It was a hard, fun experience! Here is our "family"
And our cute "real" son and his friends! Love that kid!
THE EAGLE PROJECT!!
Jacob started and finished his eagle project this summer and did a great job. He was in charge of removing some benches on Highway 89, pouring some cement slabs and installing some new benches that were donated to the city. It was a huge project and he did such a great job organizing and carrying it out. We had a lot of great help along the way!!
Grateful to have that done!!
He finished the day before he turned 14!! His birthday request this year was kayaking. After all his hard work we had to make it happen. We went down Utah Lake and rented some kayaks and enjoyed until the storm blew in!
Our 14 year old!! Unbelievable!
Along with a 14 year old, we now have a Teacher in our home. So proud of the way Jacob fulfills his priesthood responsibilities. He is a great example for his brothers. We enjoyed having both sets of grandparents for the occasion.
While the boys were at Scout Camp. Micah and I headed up to Brigham. We had a great time including a bike ride (on my old bike - love it!),
A trip to the bird refuge,
Bike races,
And helping grandpa (which he doesn't allow all that often so I had to document!)
We've enjoyed some other fun times with our grandparents this summer. Grandpa challenged 3 of us to different games at once. I think he thought it was a great idea at first, but when it was his turn all it once, he seemed to have a few regrets!
And freezing corn. Notice the empty peach trees. Saddest. Thing. Ever.
Movie in the Park!
We got lots of cousin time with these two over the summer. They enjoy each other so much and it is always a pleasure to have them around. They even participate in the family jobs :)
Love you Brayden and Max!
We enjoyed a cookout when they were around with a lot of the family up Mueller Park Canyon.
Tennis with a pretty cute ball girl!! We got Emily's kids for a few days as well.
Of course we had to participate in the beloved Neighborhood Campout. We're grateful they expanded the neighborhood to still include us. Best weekend of the year!
Here they come!
We ended the weekend with a stop in at Bear Lake for my family reunion.
One of my personal highlights was a date with Phil last weekend for the Kristin Chenoweth. She was a truly inspiring, beautiful person and holy cow! that voice!! Brian and Lynette let us share their condo so the boys could enjoy some Park City time as well. Great fun!!
The boys and I went to a local production of Peter Pan last night. It was a version we hadn't seen before and they did a great job. The part about Peter growing up always gets to me!! I know it is happening, I'm going to have 2 in Jr. High this year!, but I would love to freeze them in time!! I'm happy we have gotten to spend so much time together this summer. Love these boys so much and I hope even as they grow up they still love hanging out together. They have had a lot of fun just being with each other this summer and they are wonderful boys!! Thanks for a great summer guys!!
